Again, post under if you can make it.
For this practice lets work on our communications, team composition and pale canyon chemical
Hopefully we can setup a scrim against another outfit for this Thursday.
On a side note, if you seriously want to be a contender for comp team you should be trying for at least a 1.5kd during your live play in planetside. Anything lower than that is unacceptable.
Start working on your infantry game and pushing yourselves on your individual skill.
This needs to step up, training is going to get more intense and I will be pushing you guys harder.
Your gonna start hating me because I will call you out individually if I see something wrong.
Attendance will be recorded.

Attendance will be recorded. We've got several talented guys waiting for a spot on the team. Our roster is not final until 1/15. Everyone needs to be at practice. It is always a hard decision to cut someone, but this is the competitive team. Be at practice and push yourself to be better. Not one of us is perfect.

KDR is an easier metric to read than experience over time with said member. Lupin has a valid point regarding KDR and the competitive team. If I could find another statistic to help me evaluate my own performance (regarding teamwork/effectiveness), I'd be all over it.
[edit]I am currently torn between kills/revives. My current class choice is MAX and my secondary is medic. As a medic, I'd be able to gauge my effectiveness more effectively with a revives per death statistic.[/edit]

P.S.-You guys are awesome and I appreciate any criticism that will help me get better.

I will save everyone some time here; Please refer to the original competitive team kdr circle jerk. That went about as equally nowhere as this appears to be going. Lupin; When you post a list of competitive players who are below Tal's suggested KDR, you are calling people out and potentially causing them to feel embarrassment. As you are well aware, you are also on that list. You are in no position to be calling out any of your fellow teammates. When I asked about the utility of the post, I was attempting to further get you to elaborate about your intention when creating said post. Something I think you might not have fully considered. If you post just stats, with no explanation; this imbues the post with a negative demeanor. As previously mentioned, it just simply makes it look like you are being a tattle tale for who isn't up to snuff. However, if you were to post your own stats with a message of "let's work on our kdrs together" or something, that promotes a more positive image and fosters team work. So, LupinMay, since I am clearly not getting it. Did you post those stats with the desire to inspire your teammates, or to make people feel self-conscious?

Talron is attempting to push us all to be better. And we need to be better. We don't lack for teamwork, we prove that over and over during ops. For comp, though, we need to improve our individual skills. Competition, especially PAL, is different from what we're used to. It's going to take more than just our usual good team work. Every one of our players needs to start thinking differently. PAL is going to be less like planetside and more like a traditional FPS. KDR will matter whether it we consider it a useful measure of a player's worth or not. I'll be the first person to condemn KDR in the live environment. In competition, though, Talron has a point. We all need to start taking our individual skill to the next level. We don't have an entire platoon to rely on. There will be no chaff to leaven the impact of those really killer players. Every real challenge we'll face in comp will probably be handpick teams of the best twitch players the top outfits can put together. Every death we take will be felt keenly. Minimize our deaths and maximize our kills.
We're a casual outfit trying to play in a serious arena. We don't cherry pick the best players on the server, but we'll be playing against people who DO. If we want to have a chance, we need to all step it up quite a bit.

So, LupinMay, since I am clearly not getting it. Did you post those stats with the desire to inspire your teammates, or to make people feel self-conscious? I first saw the post that Talron made a misread the 'suggested' for 'required' when I read it. My first impression was to write a fact that conflicted with his statement. The last thing I meant to do was embarrass anybody, but merely point out that the requirement he stated wouldn't work. I don't think I'm in any situation to insult anybody and try to be polite about 99.9% of the time, so I have no idea why that thought ever entered your mind.

It's ok that you mis-understood my message Lupin. Mags was pretty much spot on with reiterating when it comes to the fact that I'm trying to push you guys to work on your individual play and every time you login to the live server try to have a play session with at least a 1.5kd.
We are a competitive team and we need to hold ourselves accountable and push ourselves to the max potential outside our comfort zone.
Now here's an inspirational speech to motivate your ass.
No offence taken Lupin.
"The Bald guys looks alot like Changes"

The best thing we can all do for the next few months (at least) is to forget we have egos. Until the MLG sponsors send hot chicks over to suck our dicks while we play, let's assume we can all get better and just focus on doing that. Whether or not you feel you'll ever get to that point is irrelevant. If we're all pushing ourselves beyond our limits and playing our asses off, we can wear losses just as proudly as wins as far as I'm concerned.
The only scenario in which we have anything to be ashamed of is the one in which we failed because we didn't push ourselves.

Play to fight not to farm. You won't learn farming. This is more true than my ego wants to admit. Would it help if we recorded some play sessions, then have everyone weigh in on the gameplay? I'm no recording wizard but this game makes it much much easier to record/share gameplay than in days past.

I would say that KDR both matters and doesn't matter. We can't see KDR from overall perspective as it counts all Vehicle, Infantry and Air into it. Counting infantry KDR from the beginning of character creation also doesn't matter for me because we get better as we play.
What kind of matters is probably the KDR during nov-dec 2013, in which it would record your skill recently or just use the accuracy from stats.dasanfall.com . I support the usage of infantry accuracy better overall
What about support class then? Engi is suppose to repair and medic is suppose to revive not to kill! They were given guns for a reason. Ability of medic or engi to finish enemy before reviving and repairing is crucial too

So I'm not in PAL and am out of town anyways this week so I'm missing some practices, but I would definently love updates on what is going good and what needs help! I will be quite focused on prep for Community Clash so anything specific we're realizing about our medics will be really appreciated <3

I played extremely horribly this practice. I could not "snap to" on enemy players to save my life. I'm not sure what the problem is but it made me really angry and loose focus/perspective. Got a few decent revive nades out but I'm not happy with my overall performance this practice. Sorry for leaving TS early. I'm going to fiddle with my settings and see if I can't find out what went wrong.

Sheep let me know of useroptions.ini changes that sometimes happen when the test server is patched. I shall be more vigilant with the settings after each patch and would advise a checklist (something akin to what pilots use) that each member of the competitive team is looks over before each practice/competition. What are some things you guys like to buckle down before go time?
