Excellent gameplay last few nights. Now that we're all starting to unlock / buy guns and their attachments, provide your feedback or recommendations on weapon combos and gameplay style!
Don't forget to comment on your engagement style; duck and cover, cloak and stage, run+gun, suicidal rush, etc. Let us know what works for you!
Warning... this may get a bit technical and long. I like to share my strategies and hear what others have success with; builds a stronger team. Since attachments cost a tangible amount (gameplay time for certs), and no trial to test them out, I thought I'd offer some feedback for folks unsure which way to go, but only if you match my playstyle ;D. I rolled a couple of alts during beta to test everything out (infiltrator, etc.), but my preferred class is, and probably always will be medic. Those of you that were not in beta, hopefully you can read some of the responses here and get insight on where you want to go before you spend certs and regret it.
Myself, I am a cautious fellow. I like to take cover, peek + seek targets, then scope and fire. I also tend to stay at the back of the pack reviving / healing, but have been known to take point and mow down the purple or blue lawn occasionally. I do not engage long-distance (spot only), and stick to close, medium-close range. Because of that anything beyond a 2x scope is useless for my playstyle. I rarely hip fire; always scope and burst fire.
After getting some needed squad leader unlocks (AMS+ammo, squad beacon+objectives), I decided to splurge a few certs on attachments and try them out on the Cycler TRV.
First of all, iron sights are fairly decent. If you've played any recent FPS (BF3, I'm looking at you), the stock iron sights for most of the weapons are fairly decent. Unless you're a sniper. Vertical recoil can be kept under control with practice, and the silly recoil compensation is gone (hopefully never to return).
Reflex 1x and 2x are OK, but man is that dot huge. I'd prefer the dot to be smaller, and my reflex to scope in close quarters means the 2x causes me to fumble more often than I would prefer.
But the IRNV. It's a lot like the original IRNV at BF3 launch, except it's limited range (close / medium-close range) means it's not for everyone, and I do not think it's too OP (overpowered) at the moment. Objects beyond a couple dozen meters fade into a fuzzy, blurred background, and the scope's blackout means a limited field of vision while scoped. Honestly, I think it's perfect right where it is, and I'll likely keep it equipped at all times now.
It also means I scope and seek with the IRNV; the limited field of vision while scoped again balances the sense of "OMG, OP!".
Foregrip.... not too sure on it yet, but while it does knock a bit of vertical climb off the tradeoff increase in horizontal recoil doesn't seem to mean a real increase in accuracy. We'll have to wait until some weapon spray tests hit the internet to see what's going on, but I tend to stick with a single weapon loadout and get proficient at it, so we'll see.
Flashlight... IRNV... forget the flashlight.
TL;DR; Cycler TRV + IRNV, peek+seek, close / medium range.
