As a experiment I'll be organizing a Infiltrator only squad during this up-coming FNO. Disclaimer: There will be no Snipers, CQC Infiltrators Only!
With the recent changes to Stalker Cloak, I want to explore a new tactic/strategy I'm dubbing the Stalker-Lock.
What is the Stalker-Lock? Well let me explain.... Objectives are captured in PS2 via a tug-of-war type system, 1 player enters and captures if there's no one, 1v1 then the objective remains contested and won't change, If there is 2v1 then the Objective flips to the side with the largest number.
What the Stalker-Lock tactic does is you cloak into a objective point and find a hiding place. Ideally the objective will flip to our control and stay that way because we will have anywhere from 1, 3, or a full 12 Stalkers locking the objective - The enemy has to bring more then we have to get control.
The Stalker Cloak is unlimited Stealth at the cost of a disabled primary weapon, That means only your side-arm pistol or crossbow.
Stalker-Lock rewards the patient, No killing because that gives away your hiding place. You only kill when absolutely necessary. This means I want Infiltrators who know weapons discipline! Don't volunteer if your unfamiliar with this concept.
The Counter:
Players have a plethora of methods to counter this. If you are cloaked then they cannot see you, but if there close enough to knife you then there cross-hairs will turn red when painted over you, giving away your position.
The biggest threat is the Dark-Light Flashlight rail slot attachment that's available for any weapon in the game (Excluding the MAX). If this light shines on you then it reveals you to everyone in the room - Friend and Foe alike. Players conventionally will explore the obvious areas someone might be hiding, such as behind boxes or in corners, We will learn how to avoid these stalker-sweeps.
Movement! Moving around creates a blur that is easy enough to spot, you have to go against all your FPS training and learn how to stand still to truly become invisible.
Weapons and Loadout:
Stalker Cloak disabled your primary, meaning you will only have your side-arm. Ideally I would like to see everyone using Crossbows because of how silent they are, they do not give away our position on the map. If you cannot afford the Crossbow then don't fret, Any pistol EXCEPT the revolvers, No Underboss or Commissioner! I want silenced weapons only so pickup either the Repeater, Emperor, or Inquisitor pistol and equip silenced suppressors!
Your loadout should look something like this...
- Stalker Cloak Ability - Unlimited stealth.
- Ammunition Belt Suit Slot - No engineers, bring your own ammo.
- Motion Spotter Tool slot - Detects enemies w/o giving away a pulse, and your presence, on the mini-map.
- EMP Grenade - Disrupts the enemy HUD making it that much more difficult to spot your stealthed blur.
- Claymore x2 - Set up traps for easy kills. (Alternatively Med-Kid, no medics so bring your own heals).
At best if the Stalker-Lock tactic works then we can avoid a long grudge match against a well-defended facility. Laughing as we take a facility from a healthy sized garrison all w/o firing a single shot!
At worst we can stalker-lock one objective that the Platoon is having difficulty with, making the facility capture that much easier.
TL/DR: Stalker-Lock tactic is hide & seek in Objective Point areas. I want disceplined volunteers to get the above mentioned loadout and explore Stalker-Locks effectiveness. This tactic is 50% Patience, 30% Discipline, and 20% Psychology.
You do-not need a well geared Infiltrator, even 1 rank into Stalker still grants you unlimited stealth. All I'm asking for are disciplined players to explore a new tactic.
