Before you Report a Player
Before you submit a complaint, review the full categories and figure out which applies to your report. Make sure what’s going on really meets the definition provided, and isn’t just a Disagreement.
Disagreement occurs when two players have a conflict of opinion. Members might disagree on game issues, personal matters, politics, anything. Discussion and debate, even heated debate, will probably result. This type of conflict may be resolved by coming to a consensus, agreeing to disagree, or even separating from each other into different channels, squads, and so on. This type of conflict is totally normal and is not cause for concern or a report. It is defined by the fact that the situation resolves without escalating or continuing long term. Disagreement is only problematic when it turns into Harassment or Infighting.
Harassment is one player instigating against another. This includes griefing, name-calling or belittling, abuse of authority (including TeamSpeak or other admin powers), and any other one-sided aggression. This is generally resolved by addressing the aggressor, through mediation, warnings, or direct consequences. If you are the “victim” in this situation, and it is a repeated occurrence, report it. Don’t just let it keep happening, and don’t escalate the situation by retaliating yourself. That will turn what started as a one-sided situation into Infighting.
Infighting is when two players are in conflict, but unlike Disagreement, the situation escalates instead of resolving itself. Arguments in public channels that are disruptive to others, or mutual griefing in-game that is disruptive to gameplay constitute Infighting. The victims in this situation are the members not involved in this fight. If you’re a victim of someone else’s argument, tell leadership. It’s unfair to you to be stuck in this sort of situation, and we will resolve it. A conflict stops being a Disagreement and becomes Infighting if it starts bothering or disrupting other players. Harassment becomes Infighting if the “victim” retaliates or escalates the situation instead of de-escalating it by getting leadership involved.
Please use the following format to submit your complaint. Do not post your complaint publicly. Your leaders aren’t stupid, and we will be looking critically at your report and your evidence, so try and include as much context as you can. Ideally, you will scroll up and take screenshots of an entire conversation, rather than a few offensive parts (for example). All reports submitted will be followed up with interviews between leadership and all players involved. If for any reason you don’t want this report shared with others, including specific individuals or other leaders, indicate that in your submission.
Private message your complaint on the forums to any leader of your choosing. Do not post your complaint on a public forum.
Retaliation for a submitted complaint will NEVER be tolerated. You will not face negative repercussions from leaders or other players for submitting legitimate claims, nor will you be permitted to retaliate against others.
