Not a lot to say about this week that I didn't say last week. We weren't really confronted with anything new, and we didn't attempt anything new. We did what we were asked to the best of our ability in a coordinated and professional manner.
The same recurring themes of mis-utilization of our division cropped up, this is something Talron and I discussed, and we're working on ways to give our division more independence from command so that we can pick our battles and fight the way we were meant to fight.
Speaking of command, Talron has asked me to step up as lieutenant of Spec Ops, which is an offer I am flattered by (really!). I don't consider myself to have the hard-ass leadership style of Talron or Beroken, which is part of what makes this unit run, as I've traditionally just been out as a leader to make sure everyone has a good time. That said, I think I can adjust, and you're gonna see a different PencilPrick who is angry and focused and actually taking his ADHD medication for once. Thanks in advance for being patient while I work out how the hell anyone is supposed to listen to literally half a dozen people talk at once and still effectively lead a super-tactical squad.
If you want to know the sorts of stuff being discussed for the future of Spec Ops, it's no secret- all the stuff I posted last time is the direction I'd like to take our division. I'm totally open to suggestions, please hit me up if you have ideas or comments or whatever.
Lastly, remember that when we leave the infantry platoon to do our own thing, we're taking a lot with us. We're a group of dedicated players to specific classes, and for every committed, well-certed engineer, medic, whatever we have, that's someone NOT helping out the main platoon. This recruitment thing is VERY important to us if we want to fill out a main platoon. Spec Ops's overall contribution is greatly reduced if it's coming at the cost of crippling our standard infantry.
