Yesterday's pubbie platoon run by Patty was an absolute blast. It was like going back a year when Patty used to lead our platoons on ops nights. Anyways, I wish I could've recorded some bits from that platoon to give an example as to how to lead the pubbies and how to recruit. Lets be honest, our numbers of active PS2 members has fallen. I know people are in school now and whatnot, so that's not a big deal, and we have a lot of members who play other games and that's no problem either. We all get burned out playing or doing the same things over and over again. Bottom line that I'm getting at here, is that we need to really apply ourselves to recruiting. During the week, outside of OPs, we need to open our squads. It doesn't take much to yell some orders over ingame comms and put some recruiting plugs in once in a while. Also, with TXR members leading the charge, we can tip the scales in an alert or outside an alert. When I took the reins from Patty and led during the Amp Station alert last night, if it were only TXR members, we wouldn't have made one bit of difference. I think there were, maybe, enough of us to fill up half a squad. Whereas, I had a little over 3 squads to move about the map. By keeping the Amp station we had on Esamir, we forced a draw for the alert. Also, it's worth mentioning, we were out popped on Esamir the whole time, but managed to stave off any attacks.
After the Alert, I took a break and handed the reins back to Patty. Under his leadership, we managed to capture control of Esamir. Ironically, we were completely gated on Indar, but oh well. Good times, and thanks Patty. Good to see the legend return!
Also, look at Patty's stickied thread on open platoons and recruiting. Excellent source.
