So tonight as i was replace my heat seat on my computer i bent and broke a pin (it broke as i tried to bend it back) I read around and couldnt find a direct answer regarding the questoin, what now. Most people say buy a new CPU but fuck that coke ant cheap and i got no monies for a new cpu. Is there a website/place i can use to look up if the pin was a grounding pin/less important and i can still just run it like normal? Or am i doomed....

OK ive gotten it to turn on, i have a 4 pin going into an 8 pin 12v to power the motherboard, This really confuses me cause i thought it was 8 pin to 8 pin when i pulled the power cables out. o now my keyboard is flashing, my fans are spinning and my monitor wont show anything.

I think your fucked man. I've tried to fix computers with broken pins before. Best case, the comp runs but randomly shuts down. Worst case, doesn't work. Far as I understand he's got pins snapped off on his CPU, which isn't really fixable unless you happen to be solder Jesus. Something like this I would imagine. www.rlocman.ru/i/Image/2010/09/29/image001.jpg

As a note, if the pins were still there it could be bent back. Difficult, but doable.
