So in this video by Wrel I discovered why AV Grenades do so well on max crashes. Turns out AV Nades do up to 75% on max's although they don't do that great against infantry if you have gren bandolier and a room full of max tethers (max-engi-medic) it is a great way to stop the max's as you enter. Remember on Hossin Bitter Forge was when we discovered this. Also, av nades are great to throw into a room and rpg at the same time as max's might not even notice its an av nade compared to a regular nade. Also, since C4 is such a big player already, it is good to know that c4 does not do more damage by position.
Unlike C4 which have no directional benefit, the rpg/av nades/ enemy fire on the back of a vehicle (excluding sunderer's which don't have that weak spot) they can do 2x or up to 2.5x with av nades.

Might be something we need to invest in for our own max playbook. With the solution to almost everything being "just throw maxes and heavies at it" in the VS/NC strategen, using AV grenades like that would balance out a generator assault.
While we were hitting Eisa tech plant, VS had 3 ZOE maxes on the vertical generator. A few AV grenades would have cleared the room at a distance very quickly.
