How to move in a tank column
Many people think that a tank column is just a vertical column of thanks. That might be true but what when we add some structure to the column, could it change something or not ? From my expirience it does a huge diferents. It makes sure that everybody knows what the other should be doing when the column is moving or attacking the enemy and it prevents unnecessary distractions.
The structure of the column is actually pretty simple. The red colored quadrilateral is representing a tank and the yellow one is representing the distance between the two tanks (the distance is the length of one tank). The tank on the top is the leading tank (sqad leader) and is positioned in the middle of the column. Every other tank is a half tank (width) to the left or right, when the first tank is left than the second has to be right and the third left and so on to the last that is in the middle. The lines represent the way a gunner shud luck and scan for targets. Gunners in the left tanks left, the gunners in the right tanks right, the gunner in the first tank forward and the gunner in the last tank backwards.
But what is when the column is getting attacked, how should the tanks leave the column? Simply the tanks on the left are moving left and tanks on the right right and the last tank can defend the back or join the attack. The skyguard should be positioned behind the first tank or in front the last tank (the position of the skyguard is the same than of the first and last tank (in the middle)). The sanderer should be always positioned in front of the last tank and in both cases the last tank is there to protect the sanderer or skarsgard.
