I was thinking about this on the way to work this morning and I'm really starting to believe Ke$ha might be the greatest satirist of our age.
This song is obviously about the impossible double standard placed on your girls to be both "normal" young ladies and out of control party girl sex symbols. The juxtaposition of the skanky, disheveled party girl and the 'ideal' of the average family highlights the incongruity of the two roles our society seeks to force young women into.
The line "brush my teeth with a bottle of jack" is equal parts indictment and cry for help. It recognizes the need for normalcy while exposing the fact that she lacks the basic tools to achieve this normalcy. Instead of a proper training for life, she is left only with the 'tools' of the party girl role, in this case represented by the alcohol. Still, she bravely forges on seeking to bring a strange synergy to her morning routine and reconcile the opposing pressures placed on her by society.
Discuss.

Ke$ha is the product of Dr. Luke and Benny Blanco. The only purpose of these songs is too collect a bunch of money; by manufacturing what is 'cool'. The imperiled youth is what is currently cool and hip.

Ke$ha is the product of Dr. Luke and Benny Blanco. The only purpose of these songs is too collect a bunch of money; by manufacturing what is 'cool'. The imperiled youth is what is currently cool and hip. Yeah...at first glance. You have to go deeper. What I am saying is that Ke$ha, the singer, had very little creative control over the song. So, do not credit her as a great satirist. Credit Dr. Luke and Benny Blanco, who are also responsible. Dr. Luke - "Lukasz Sebastian "Luke" Gottwald (born 1973),[2] better known as Dr. Luke, is an American songwriter, record producer, multi-instrumentalist, and remixer. Dr. Luke's professional music career began in the late night television sketch comedy Saturday Night Live as its house band's lead guitarist in 1997 and producing remixes for artists such as Bon Jovi and Gravediggaz. He came into music prominence in 2004 for producing Kelly Clarkson's single "Since U Been Gone" with Swedish record producer Max Martin. Dr. Luke continued to co-write and produce commercially successful records such as "Who Knew" (2006) for Pink, "Girlfriend" (2007) for Avril Lavigne, and "I Kissed a Girl" (2008) for Katy Perry, before leaving Saturday Night Live and reuniting with Clarkson for "My Life Would Suck Without You" (2009) and with Perry for "Roar". While continuing to produce for Perry, Lavigne, and Pink, Dr. Luke has also worked with other artists, including Taio Cruz, B.o.B, Jessie J, Britney Spears, Flo Rida, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, and Rihanna. Dr. Luke is also noted for signing recording artists such as Kesha and Sabi and playing a vital part in their careers. Dr. Luke's work has been merited for various music industry awards. Music publication Billboard named him as one of the top performing producers of the 2000s. The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers awarded him Producer and Songwriter of the Year honors from 2009 to 2011. At the 53rd Grammy Awards, was nominated for a Grammy Award for Producer of the Year, Non-Classical, and Perry's Teenage Dream was nominated for Grammy Award for Album of the Year." Benny Blanco- Benjamin Levin (born March 8, 1988), professionally known as Benny Blanco, is an American rapper, musician, songwriter and record producer. He has written and produced songs for artists such as Katy Perry ("California Gurls", "Teenage Dream"), Maroon 5 ("Moves like Jagger, "Payphone"), Britney Spears ("Circus"), Taio Cruz ("Dynamite"), Kesha ("Tik Tok"), Gym Class Heroes ("Stereo Hearts", "Ass Back Home""), Wiz Khalifa ("Work Hard, Play Hard", "No Sleep") and Trey Songz ("Heart Attack"). Early in his career, Blanco worked with Dr. Luke, and has also collaborated with Shellback, Ryan Tedder, Bruno Mars, Nicki Minaj, Dan Wilson, Mike Posner, Max Martin, Sean Paul and Paul Epworth. Additionally, Blanco received the Songwriter of the Year Award at the BMI Pop Awards in early 2012" These guys deserve your admiration for Tik Tok

In any other case, I might agree, but I've become convinced, very recently that Ke$ha is, in fact, tapped into the motive force behind our entire generation. She is, literally, the fountain-head from which all creativity and artistry flows.
Futhermore, I'm not convinced either of these men actually exist. For all I know they are simply manifestations of gestalt consciousness spawned the greatness of Ke$ha's staggering intellect. These "men" likely get 'credit' as simple nods to platonic forms of creativity, just as great writers of bygone ages would invoke various gods or muses.
Once you deconstruct the individual's names, you start to get a better picture of the reality behind their existence. For instance, Blanco, spanish for "white." Derived from the same latin root for which we get "blank." B. Blanco, or "Be Blank," is simply an empty canvas upon which the very ideal of creative assistance is painted. It helps those of limited metaphysical awareness focus their appreciation by providing an empty physical vessel.
The fact that multiple "artists" have since copied Ke$ha's brilliance by crediting some of the work to this new-age muse is only further evidence that it does not exist as an physical entity, but really as a metaphysical focus for creative potential.

I think I am going to go with the very well thought out yet simple response of.... the fuck?
Honestly I feel it could be either way, the song might be created for money or secretly there is a deeper meaning. And if there is a deeper meaning then why didn't she explain it? I feel if there was then either her production company or her said no to let all the ignorant shits who listen to her music feel like they are 420 yolo swag......
That's my opinion anyways.

Webster lists it and cites the first known use as 1857 but doesn't say who or how. Of course, Webster lists "irregardless" also.
"Normalcy" has been bugging me in recent years. It's main use now seems to be to self-identify as a conservative Republican. It was probably that in the 20's also. Webster needs to add another definition for it: "Adj., state of affairs where the Office of the Presidency is held by an old rich white Protestant."
Nothing new about the "normal girl" vs. "party girl" problem. It's been that way for somewhere between decades and millennia. Stupid biology. I've put waaaay too much thought into that problem and come to the conclusion that I need always be dating at least two girls at once.
Chicky is cute, though. Mags, you've brought her up before. Is this your first pop star crush?
Just watched Ferguson's bit. Funny, but he seems to think that marketers invented fertility.

After being on the internet for so long I'm not surprised to find opinions or ideas that are pretty out there. Hence this is why I hate text. Because if you have said this over TS I would have understood it was a joke.

Because if you have said this over TS I would have understood it was a joke. The shtick is to make it sound as much like something an insane person on the internet would say, so I really don't fault you if you didn't see my smirk. The more time you spend in contact with me, the easier it gets to pick up on. None of my RL friends take me seriously at all anymore.
