I just got done talking with Kieladar on Skype about it. He says the rough idea is inspired by Rooster Teeths Red vs Blue but with it's own twist on the Auraxian Conflict?
I'd like to see a Planetside2 spin on M.A.S.H. myself, though not the garrison of any one facility but rather tell the story from the perspective of the vehicle crews driving around Auraxis.
Maybe have the story centered around a Sunderer and her crew and there adventures around Auraxis. a Glory starved Commander, Grumpy Old Engineer, Comedic Gunners, Perverted Radio Operator, Morbidly cynical Medic and a Stereotypical FNG driver? The ideas for characters is ongoing.
As far as Story content our heroes in there Sunderer could be assigned as a Supply Unit, responsible for doing everything a Sunderer can do behind allied lines, the behind the scenes logistics you would expect with any real military such as:
-Transporting brand new freshly conscripted troops who have never seen war before to the front line.
-Transporting troopers who have been assigned on Garrison Guard duty to some random facility.
-Transporting Spec-Ops teams on some stealthy night mission.
-Carrying wounded from the front to a medical facility.
-Being assigned to change out equipment utilities such as AMS, Ammo, Repair, or other for some wayward task like meeting up with a fuel starved Tank element or repairing a downed Galaxy thus saving it's crew.
The story's are limitless
Death doesn't really mean anything because of game mechanics, but if we perceive this story with a realistic view for Lore such as when you die you respawn at a nearby Nanite Facility. The Terran Republic makes habit of mind-wiping it's soldiers to ensure loyalty thus both the threat of a painful death and a mind-wipe give our heroes a pretty high sense of self-preservation, making them want to avoid death at all costs. Death would also mean killing off a characters personalities and memory's of his friends.
These are just my ideas for a Machinima.

How about a character that the Mind Wipes just don't take. He's faced with thousands of his own deaths

Truthfully, this could be a monumental undertaking. Script writing, cameras, tons of editing, voice acting/voice overs. Not only that, but we have to do this all while avoiding being trolled by someone who just /needs/ to interfere.

TSilver is right, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't give it a shot. Also, don't forget the reason why Red VS Blue was good at first was the humor and the inside jokes surrounding the game.

It could be done on the PTS to prevent trolling since almost nobody plays there.

Story would probably take the longest to come up with, write, and get everyone's approval on.
Our outfit has something like 270+ players? Finding people to be puppeteers for filming the Machinima shouldn't be hard. We have a number of people who can record with high settings and everything to make it look good, Just a issue to get them and our puppeteers online at the same time. Filming will be the funnest part IMO.
Finding and recording the voice-actors shouldn't be to hard, again we have 270+ people to pool from. Our hosts from the game-grub podcast have a lot of experience with recording and sound quality insurance so if we can get them on board with this Machinima Project that would be amazing! Making sure the acting is good though is up in the air.
The most difficult part about it all would be who will tackle the job of post-production and editing. You could probably do it all with Sony-Vegas Pro, it's just a pain in the ass to cut and edit the video and to sync the voice recordings to the video, not including the bonus options of original music and a 10-20 second original intro.
It seems overwhelming but if you divide the work between Puppeteers, Video Recording, Voice Actors, Audio Recorders, and lastly Post-Production with all of it being supervised by a Director/Story Writer for continuity then it comes together quite nicely.

A few years ago I was heavily invested in WoW Machinima with a few friends, I would do the puppeteer work while a friend did all the video recording, voice acting and post-production stuff, Back before we figured our WoW model viewer gave a more cinematic feel to Machinima.
I could help out with the Puppeteer work.

I can do a script when I have time.
Simple yet interesting story and some hidden refferances.

I believe Kieladar is the one compiling everything for this Machinima Project, so if you have any scripts or ideas for characters that you are interested in seeing or playing the role of, send this stuff to Kieladar. Once we have a officil script we'll organize actors and recordings
I'll post a Email shortly for convenience.

If you guys are serious, I have a little idea to whet everyone's whistle. It would be a lot less time intensive, and a good introduction to drum up interest and get the juices flowing.
It would essentially be a 'deadliest catch' style documentary/mockumentary. Have a one night competition between competing crews of two man harraser teams for total kills/points. The entire 3 contients are fair game, so gun skill is as important as finding the best 'fishing' spots. 5-6 crews complete independently to be recognized as bringing in the best haul. Video is under 15 minutes, beginning details rules and gives team introductions (intros voiced by teams), then cuts to narrated gameplay with cuts to harraser crew color commentary with establishing shots of the game maps and relative crew locations with score totals. Have each crew have one person record video and crew TS channel. If Laz has the exp, have him narrate the final product. Competition is an hour, so have around 5 hours of video that can easily be whittled down to good comments and good gameplay.
Just an idea that would be quick to get off the ground, doesnt have any blocking or puppetry, and can't be ruined by opfor crashing locations, also doubles as gameplay/recruitment video.

We need drama too!
I am pretty good with coming up with ideas. So I wouldn't mind sitting down with you guys and brain storming some good episodic ideas.
Here is one idea: A TR team is sent on a Special Ops mission to take down supplies behind enemy lines. Against great odds or really good stealth they manage to do it. They in fact do it without losing a single life. The twist: At the very end, one of the members on the team assasinates all of the team including himself to ensure that the operation and how it was done is kept secret because as soon as the members wake up their brains are wiped. Gives a grim reality of the war
