Well I was going to suggest Wolverines, in reference to the original Red Dawn
Or, Valkyries, in reference to apocalypse now

Well I was going to suggest Wolverines, in reference to the original Red Dawn Or, Valkyries, in reference to apocalypse now I came to this post with the idea of suggesting Valkyrie, but Snoggy beat me to it by a few hours. I like the name Valkyrie. I think it's fits into the existing scheme of phantoms and sentinels. I would suggest that we edit the scheme a little and drop the "s" from phantoms and sentinels. Ideally the name should be as easy as possible to say in the heat of battle. Dropping a syllable does that. We can have the official title be something like Valkyrie Squadron, if we like, but when throwing out orders or giving report, simply Valkyrie is ideal. Another reason to drop the "s" would be for running and directing division sub-groups. Saying " Valkyrie 1 to excavation, Valkyrie 2 to comm array" rolls off the tongue easier that with the addition of the "s" on the end. It is also symbolic of the camraderie we hope to promote; we are not a bunch of individual Valkyries flying about, each doing their own thing. That is not when we are strong. Our strength shows when we exercise team based tactics as a coordinated force, a single force, Valkyrie. Sorry for the long post. In conclusion I am for changing skywatch to Valkyrie and possibly the other divisions would agree to change their names to Sentinel and Phantom.

Ok; We've got 11 responses after two weeks or so. I think we can call that a fair sample. We've got some interest in changing the name, so let's throw out some ideas.
To keep things organized I'll start a new thread for ideas. In a week or so we'll grab the top name ideas and vote on them.
