Here it is, Chums: Patch 1.37, AKA, the Choke It Down patch.
It's much closer to the wargaming.net system than I'd like, but it's not as terrible as it could have been or as many of us feared. You will have to climb the trees, plane by plane/tank by tank. However, it's not as restrictive as the WoT system. You needn't buy all of the necessary upgrades, only research them. Also, all xp from the chosen nation still feeds into your research aims. So, if you want a higher tier Corsair, you will have to purchase the shitty ones, below. But, you had to do that, even under the current system. And it seems that you can still fly other planes to get the necessary xp and cash push through them. Not catastrophic. It means that our premium planes will actually be more useful than in the current system (smooth move, on their part), so that's not too bad, either.
Long story, short, I've still got my pitchfork out, but I'm waving it rather feebly because my arms are a little wobbly with relief at the near calamity we've avoided.
