Ok so as you may have noticed the delay between podcasts is increasing at a rapid pace. Part of it is the mess that is our busy schedules...the other is content.
Do you guys want game up date runs downs, banter on weapons and the retaliative strengths of the Full Turkey Sandwich With Mayo in taking Bio Labs? Do you want more coverage of other games as well as PS2? Should we actually do the radio play version of Redington's fanfic I keep threatening to script up? I am also open to doing episodes that focus on projects and games other than PS2 that we are doing as an outfit.
In short, if we had a better grasp of what you guys want to hear we might get to making these on a more regular basis.
Let me know.

Doing podcasts about the Game Updates seems like a futile attempt that is largely shot down by your various busy first-world schedules. When a Game Update comes out, everyone wants to eat up all the information they can day 1, that appeal and interest may last through the week, and then the interest dies because we soak up all that information so fast.
Ergo Doing a podcast about a Game Update and then releasing that Podcast 2, sometimes 3 weeks late, I think the latest was 5 weeks, That makes it difficult both on you guys to produce the podcast and on the viewers to retain interest. The Outfit may fanboy over it regardless of the time frame, but expanding that audience to other gaming communities and players doesn't happen.
My interest in the Game Grub Podcast? What I would like is...
(First 3 segments are brief maybe 3-5 minute news rundowns, so Players know what's happening so they aren't always bored and looking for something to do) -Outfit News: Whats new with the Outfit this week, what events do we have going, no matter how mundane like a training exercise, and highlight whoever is organizing the event, maybe a "Hero of the Republic" notice for whos putting forth the most effort this week, 1 person.
-Allied Spotlight: What Allied outfits have we been working with a lot this week, maybe even a highlight on a rising hero we like in the Allied Outfit.
-State of the Republic: Whats going on with the TTA this week, what Outfits are doing what events and who do we contact for a Platoon invite?
(Everything else is the fun meat and potatoes of the podcast) -Community Gaming: What 3 games are we playing or hyping up this week? Some random indie game? did someone get into a Beta? Or did some new trailer come out for a game thats still a year away from release?
-Gaming Night Announcement: We been trying to kickstart Monday Night Gaming with Chivalry and TF2 but there's a ton more games to play, Tell everyone what game our Community is going to play this week on Monday and who to talk to for invites and more information!
-The Think Tank: The Outfits primary game is PS2, Brainstorm about things we want to see in PS2, doesn't matter how ridiculous. Talk about stuff that's in or not in the Roadmap, Game Updates are boring to try and talk about every single thing but usually in most Game Updates there's always 1 thing that's fraken awesome fun, you can talk about that one thing if you want and future applications for it.
I would recommend guest hosts. For the most part the Podcast is done by Tom, Changes, and Talron, but just you three every podcast has the risk of becoming mundane, as much as we love you three. Throw a random fourth in every week, You could cherry pick some TXR celebrity we all know and love, or you could make a game of it and get the community involved, Example: Tweet #TXR one sentence why you want to be a guest host, or leave a comment on the TXR Steam Page. Make a game of it and it gets the community involved in our various media.
If you really want to go over-the-top for those listeners who enjoy visuals as well as listening, Don't have to but this could always help: Talron, Changes, or anyone else in the Outfit who Streams and records stuff while we play, maybe Fearhawk or G1Caliver, Get them to Email you the video files of the stuff they record, throw it together in some mashup video, nothing over the top fancy and then play the Podcast over the recording in a youtube video. It lets players watch TXR stuff while they listen.

You could even go as far as to link the Podcast to the Outfit rank system, what I mean is this...
Find a dedicated member in the Outfit who's interested in looking up news stories for the Podcasts news segments, they can write this stuff up, give it to you guys for review, you do your final stamp of approval(or not).
As reward to this unknown TXR Member you give them a "The Reporter" tag or title on Team-Speak, some special acknowledgement that's outside the chain of command but incredibly important to the community. Similar to the Donar Tags members can earn.

Another alternative is throw the formal recording sessions out the window, Don't even need regular hosts or guest hosts, do it on the fly.
You log into TS every day, doesn't matter the game your playing, maybe a interesting conversation comes up on TS, you feel like recording it, throw that up as the Podcast for the week. If you want to make it formal-on-the-fly then a interesting conversation comes up, you drag the people involved in the conversation to a private channel, turn on the recorder, and have a formal discussion on whatever special topic you guys happen to be talking about and just let it flow.
As long as the podcast are once a week and remotely interesting, WE HAVE OURSELVES A PODCAST!

Most of the things I suggest is all stuff you guys probably already know, all I can really stress the importance of is routine.
Get a routine of once a week, Tom, Changes, and Talron, (Guest host has to work to your schedule, not the other way around, They want there 15 minutes of fame make them work to get it) discuss the podcast, record the podcast and toss it up that same week. Do this every week for a month and it becomes routine, second nature, the more you do the Podcast the less of a hassle it becomes, and if your filtering the stories right then the discussions on the show become fun, its not a job anymore, its a hobby!
Routine, Routine, Routine,Routine, Routine, Routine,Routine, Routine, Routine,Routine, Routine, Routine,Routine, Routine, Routine,Routine, Routine, Routine,Routine, Routine, Routine,Routine, Routine, Routine,!

Yep, the best podcasts do something, even a little something, on a regular schedule. Routine reinforces listening.
I like lots of the ideas. I will be working on a few of them this week.

We should devote a big segment in the next podcast to discussing games besides Planetside, especially ones we might like to see TXR play. Each person participating should choose one game to describe and hype up and promote, and get no more than 60 seconds to do so.

Also don't forget about they ESF update coming up, you can probably have a couple GUYS from skywatch interviewed and see what they think about it.

I don't see why we can't do a TxR section just talking about us and to the outfit for a few minutes. Plus it would add a way for people to get news updates more often.

Looks like we are gunna try our darnest to get a podcast done this week. We will be coordinating a time very soon.
We feel that the podcast with pencil was stupendous and we want to invite you to become a permanent part of the GameGrub podcast.
We also wanna start making it a weekly thing again and use outfit ideas to fuel the conversations.
Looking forward to GameGrub 2.0!

I'd love to do it! I had a blast participating.
Swatz, Hereticus, and I discussed the podcast a bit earlier today. I think it would be better if we did several, shorter, focused podcasts of perhaps 10-15 mins in length, rather than one long one covering many topics. Topics could include the traditional stuff, like commentary on Planetside, our events, and updates, but also branch out to include such subjects as:
-People spotlighting another game they enjoy and would want to play with others (be it Minecraft, Warframe, Day Z, or whatever). -Leadership sharing our thoughts on the outfit and its direction, communicating some of the results from our meetings. (Fireside chats!) -Interview a guest who will tell us an interesting story of some sort (like I did describing the origin of my name)
...
There are a lot of benefits to doing shorter podcasts. These incldue:
-Listeners can select one topic that interests them and listen to it, making our material more easily accessible -Easier to produce more segments: We could more easily release 15 min podcasts more frequently as compared to long ones less frequently -Easier to cover more topics in appropriate depth: Don't have to worry about spending too much or too little time on a subject, or running over our limit. We can be more flexible with how much time we give one subject. -With shorter segments, we can involve more people, and more easily have guests on.
Those are my thoughts.

Stories from changes and talron of SOE Live, the random 666 written on a guys forhead (possible video footage) and anything else from Vegas. Also Hossin is now up so talk about that, possibly run around in a harasser and find interesting ideas about what strategies or just the basic limits this new continent will have. SOE Live Hossin test server up Game updates On test server ESF's new weapons mossie now has around 1 sec TTK for reaver/scyth/harasser on some of the guns and better lock ons as well.
