Exciting changes coming to TXR and our outfit structure and hierarchy. We are moving from a 5 tier Ranking system to a 10 tier system. TXR leadership wanted to add a way to distinguish our most dedicated members. We also sought to give outfit members a way to progress through the ranks in a more structured and predefined way.
The problem:
So during our FNO, Talron and Patty mentioned a problem we have in our Outfit is ranks, how do we track these players, how do we decide who gets advancement, who should be demoted or even removed, and how do we place them when we only have 5 Outfit ranks to work with when so many of our members deserve more.
The In-game Outfit is limited to just 5 ranks, but we have both a Team-Speak server and a Website, so why can’t we just invent more Player ranks via TS titles and website forum applications?
The solution:
The golden rule to use is 10 ranks, it’s a general standard used in most games. Outfits, Clans, Guilds, Corporations, Groups, etc, They all usually only offer 10 or more ranks to manage the entire group and we believe we can just promote or demote player ranks via the Team-Speak, 10 ranks is more then enough for our purposes. It’s merely a matter of time, it’s inevitable that SOE will eventually add 10 or more ranks for Outfits to use, but until then this Rank system can suit TXR needs just fine.
We roughly follow a “Rule of 3” for each Tier to make it easier to organize. Having a tiered system and 10 ranks also makes it easier to figure out, test, and define who you can trust with what jobs in the Outfit. Most notably it shines during FNO or any significant ops.
Each rank is a “Milestone” or achievement for Outfit members. Players love to compete and push themselves to earn Ranks so it works well not only for figuring out leadership but keeping Outfit members interested in the Outfit.
From Lowest to Highest ranks for our Outfit:
1). Conscript:
Brand new recruit to the Outfit, we promote Conscripts after they have been in the Outfit for 2+ weeks consistently, so that we can be sure they don’t just join and then quit the game.

It costs a lot in order to maintain our outfit. TeamSpeak Servers, web hosting, fees, ect. all cost money to maintain. In fact, it costs about $450 a year. Changes and Talron have always taken the stance that if we do not get enough donations we would gladly pay out of our very own pockets in order to keep this beast alive. That being said, your donations really do help us keep the boat afloat and we wanted a way to recognize those who are generous enough to donate towards outfit costs. Donors will get a special TeamSpeak icon so others can say "thanks" for making this all possible.

Special Thanks to Hereticus for spearheading this project and conceptualizing the majority of the structure!
