1. What kind of experience do you have leading?
I can't say I have very much in leading a team or squad of members. But I have lead a Highlander team for TF2 for two seasons (6 and 7 if that means anything to you) which was really a great experience in having to know the map layout, making sure the team that would be playing that night had proper practices via scrims and lobbies. The team disbanded because We all got too lazy with the responsibilities we had.
2. Why do you want to lead?
I was given the platoon lead last night and tonight and I really enjoyed the responsibilities that I had and the players with me were really supportive in leading me through the role and with the mutual respect between leader and squad mates it creates a great and fun dynamic that can't really be found elsewhere.
3. How do you handle stress and heated situations?
By not placing blame on those who were following my orders, if I find myself in a situation where my orders failed or are too large for a platoon of our size than obviously that was my fault and we should take a step back and reconsider our options.
Generally, I handle stress by stepping back and taking objective view at the situation and compromising where possible.
4. Are you able to diffuse situations before they escalate into bigger problems?
I've had many chances to try and step into a situation in front of me and calming down both sides and using my available knowledge to clear any misunderstandings and help bring those involved to a compromise. If either side is unwilling to compromise than I advise to walk away and to come back when they are.
5. How is your experience with dealing with inter-outfit conflicts?
Absolutely zero, I've never been in an outfit this large before.
6. How would you rate your strategic knowledge of Planet Side 2?
I would rate my knowledge at 8. I have plenty understanding of territory control, influence and adjacency bonuses, facility boons. I also am aware of resource management and to encourage it when ever the continent we are on has little friendly territory.
7. How would you describe your leadership ability out of 10
My only previous experience with this was on my TF2 team where I could rate myself as a 6. I still have much to learn about leading any amount of people.
8. What are your biggest contributions you can bring as a leader to TXR?
A large understanding of how Planetside 2 works, plenty of ground work skills and knowledge of many base layouts. As well as an understanding personality that tries to stay unbiased in the face of conflict.
9. How do you feel TXR can benefit from you being in a leadership position?
I find that whenever the current lead signs off few people offer up and that I understanding that many leaders can grow tired and deserve a break, at which time I'd be happy to take over.
10. Do you understand the responsibilities that come with TXR leadership?
Honestly? No. I could say I do but I feel that leading a squad or platoon seriously probably entails much more that I am aware of but I'd try my best to learn as quickly as possible.
