As stupid as they seem to be and annoying when it comes to balance I have noticed things at low tiers that baffle me.
1. The P36's fucking rule at their BR. BnZ with them all day and murder folks with .50 rounds
2. Anything below 2.7 Is decent in terms of fighting compared to the higher tiers. Balance still blows but it's better than nothing.
3. Realistic battles are the most balanced in terms of the BR system. After playing a few days worth of Zero's vs Lags it stays within a certain range. Occasionally a better plane will appear but overall it still is within a certain range.
4. Peeps be using smoke a lot more. As a result I also think red smoke offends people because on three occasions yesterday I was TK'ed by friendlies for flying smoke.

I look forward to the day I can unlock things other than T1.

Research goes faster when you use the plane just before it.

Apparently the F4F is performing really well at it's tier. I've noticed on several occasions that F4F pilots are getting 7+ kills in the thing. Tarz saw one get 12 last night...

F4F-3 or F4F-4? I've had good runs with both, but have been staying out of the F4F-4 on the advice that having all 2.0 planes would keep you in more balanced matches.

It might have less firepower than the 4 but it climbs and turns faster than the 4. Not to mention you don't have to reload as much because the 4 .50s don't suck up as much ammo as the 6 the F4F-4 has. It's still in my lineup even though I have a Corsair, Hellcat, and P-400.

I did leave those both behind awhile ago. Now my main challenge is doing any good with the P-38G. The WT version of it doesn't appear to have some of the strengths of the historical one.

No. The P-38 flight mechanic is one of the main community gripes. Gaijin keeps promising to fix it, and still hasn't, despite numerous FM patches for other planes. As things stand, now, use the engine power and phenomenal climb to make it a bomber-hunter, in arcade. It fills that role out, quite well. I use them, even in higher-tier hangars because they bomber-chase, so well. Just beware getting anything behind you. It can't turn and the wings seem to be coated in napalm. That thing catches fire worse than the biplanes do...

One more P-39 and I'll be on the 38. Sounds like a good airplane to pull out of the chute in arcade if you're not going bomber.
