Hey, that kinda rhymes!
More changes from on high, fellow members. We've decided to change how we handle our specialty divisions here in TXR.
Our Specialty divisions have been around in their current form basically since the launch of the game. In the old days, we'd actually put different divisions in different channels and run them independently. Prowler Pack would stay in their tanks the whole time, Skywatch was supporting us from the air, Spec Ops was off securing far-out territory from a superior force. We often had more than one platoon going at the same time.
Times have changed. Our strategies have changed. We no longer run our divisions separately, the "division" part no longer applies. Nowadays, we move faster, shift our tactics faster, adapt more readily to the situation in front of us. We pull armor only when we need it, we expect Spec Ops discipline from ALL our members, not just the elites, and our air wing no longer supports us directly, but instead supports our entire faction in conjunction with TTA. Additionally, it's no secret that the game's population isn't what it used to be, and we simply can't take so many soldiers out of our main contingency and divide them into other groups.
In practice, we do not run our divisions like "clubs" anymore, and we developed changes in our policy to reflect that.
The general idea here is that specialty divisions are no longer groups you belong to, but rather, certifications you can obtain. You won't get your badge at the beginning when you sign up, you'll earn it at the end by meeting the requirements of the division, as created by the division leaders.
We asked each of our specialty division leads to come up with criteria for what every good tanker/pilot/infantry class should have and be capable of. The division leaders have been given the freedom to create what requirements they think are appropriate, and the responsibility of managing their roster and members.
Divisions will still hold trainings and events that will be open to all members, certified or not. The idea is that division training and events will be your resources for improving yourself as you pursue your ultimate goal of being really good at something, and then getting recognized for it. Use the division events to pursue and attain membership, then help others to do the same.
I'll update this post with links to the new doctrines as they become available. Division leaders are in charge of their own show, so contact them with questions about their divisions.
As with our other revisions, this is currently a work in progress. Nothing is set in stone, and we welcome your questions and feedback.
For Ground Pounders, contact Swatz. His requirements can be found here: <<<>>>
For the Mechanized Division, talk to Hereticus or Toasteroven. Their doctrine can be found here: <<<>>>
For Skywatch, get in touch with Magnifiscent. Guidelines for ace airmen are here: <<<>>>
