I've been toying with this idea for a bit and Talron has requested we provide a more static, accessible weekly roster for ops.
I'd like to try out an Air Cavalry set up for the group and see how it works out. Sort of like a mix between the old Spec Ops and our current Skywatch.
So to the roster:
Galaxy Team -
Battle Galaxy pilot: (Hans, I'm looking at you)
Battle Galaxy Gunner:
Infiltrator:
Mosquito Team -
1. Hops
2.
3.
4. Magnifiscent
Liberator Team -
Liberator 1 Pilot:
Liberator 1 Gunner:
Liberator 2 Pilot: Laistrogian
Liberator 2 Gunner:
--------------------
Loadouts:
All pilots are engineers for obvious reasons. Lib gunners are light assaults in case we need you on the ground. the jump packs let you get back into your lib without landing or to deploy quickly from altitude.
The infiltrator is to allow us to either get a ghost cap going quickly, spawn a sundy for a spawn point.
Mosquitoes will be a mix of anti-air and anti-ground. If you run rockets, you should have a rotary or needler. If you run the banshee you should have tomcats. If you want to focus solely on anti-air, your weapons are your choice.
I don't care what weapon you bring on the lib - it is the gunner's choice and the pilot's responsibility to use it appropriately.
-------------------
I want to start using a gal team for several reasons. First, Hans loves flying his battle gal and I'd love to see him back in the squadron. Second, the battle gal takes a lot of fire for the rest of the squadron and is a good way to keep people with the squad who may be out of air resources.
This roster is not a rigid or fixed battle plan for the entire op. People run out of resources, have to log off, get bored, or whatever. No problem. We can adjust to fill gaps or meet needs as appropriate. The purpose of this roster is to make it very easy to see who is going to show up, and to let everyone know before the op even starts what you're going to be doing. As soon as we get a firm continent assignment, we can have our planes pulled and ready to roll in moments.
If/when you run out of resources or are down for a timer, I want you guys hooking up with the battle gal and acting like infantry until we need to pull more air. Right now we get 3 or 4 guys scattered all over the place with no way to stay with the group. That is frustrating for our members and the leadership. When you can't fly, you're airborne infantry in the gal. We don't lose pilots, we gain boots on the ground.
Talron and Changes want to sort of standardize the platoon for FNO. Delta will pretty much always be the air guys. Let's make it a nice full squad and show the rest of the outfit how we get things done in Skywatch.
