Planetside's competitive scene is emerging, and Total Recoil is going to be a part of it. To formalize our competitive aspirations, Spec Ops is going to be reborn as TXR's official competitive division.
1. Develop the skills of Spec Ops members and their cohesion as a unit through training, scrimmage matches (formal and informal), and competitive play.
2. Engage in continual iterative development of strategies and tactics, and disseminate the successful results among the greater TXR player base.
3. Advance the well-being of the outfit and it's reputation by demonstrating exceptional conduct, attitudes, and skill.
Put simply, Spec Ops exists not just to compete and win, but to contribute to the outfit writ large outside of the competitive arena. Spec Ops members will be expected to be not just the most skilled players TXR has to offer, but the most cooperative, the most team-oriented, the most creative, the most supportive.
Accordingly, Spec Ops members will be held to a higher standard of conduct than regular TXR members. Participation in Spec Ops is a privilege and not a right. If you fail to meet the high standards for this division, leadership can terminate your membership at any time at their discretion.
-Applicants must have a rank in the outfit of "Specialist" or higher.
-Applicants must have the Public Test Server installed and updated, with a certed-out character on all three factions.
-Applicants must regularly play in TXR's Wednesday and Friday night ops.*
-Applicants must commit to attending trainings in the lead-up to competitive matches.*
-Applicants must attend all events for which they are on the competitive roster.**
-Applicants must have a demonstrated ability to work as a team, to support their squad mates, and to follow the orders of their superiors promptly and without question.
-Even if all the above requirements are met, all applicants will be personally screened by leadership before acceptance. Endorsement of an application by superiors is helpful, but not mandatory.
(*TXR does not have mandatory play times or events. Leadership intends to always stick by this principle. However, this is Spec Ops, and the bar is higher for this division. While you don't have to attend every event, you should be at most of them.)
(**If you cannot attend a match you are rostered for, you must let leadership know as far in advance as possible. If you fail to do so, you will be removed from Spec Ops, to be reinstated only at the discretion of leadership.)
Spec Ops members will be integrated into the main platoon for Wednesday night ops. During ops, members are expected to utilize the communications, tactics, and methodologies of Spec Ops. You will be acting as a role model, an example for others to follow. In this way, successful ideas developed in Spec Ops will spread to the rest of TXR's members, as has happened with our comms and rapid redeployment, both originally developed in Spec Ops.
During Friday Night Ops, Spec Ops may, at the discretion of leadership, operate in their own squad or platoon. When Spec Ops rolls as a division, members will be expected to play with a competition level of focus and cohesion. These operations will be field tests for specific methodologies, and our combat readiness in general.
When we are not preparing for an upcoming event, ops nights will serve as practice. Additionally, players must be ready to participate in scrimmage matches against other outfits as they are arranged. Expect regular "cooperative" scrimmages for practice with fellow TR outfits, as well as competitive scrimmages, casual and scored, against our enemies.
When we are preparing for an official scrimmage or competitive event, trainings will be more frequent at the discretion of leadership. Attendance at all trainings is encouraged, attendance at most of them is required.
If you think you have what it takes to be in Spec Ops, if you want to take your skills and your outfit to the next level, join us. We will ascend above the competition in glorious victory, or force our opponents through a fight they'll never forget to claim it themselves.
As a division, Spec Ops will have the following goals and principles above all others:

2. Engage in continual iterative development of strategies and tactics, and disseminate the successful results among the greater TXR player base.
