So I'm into Amon Amarth, Opeth, Haggard, NekroGoblikon etc. But I need more, what do you guys suggest?

Porcupine Tree
Gojira
Behemoth (Incidentally, this is a pretty evil music video)
Between the Buried and Me
Black Dahlia Murder
Dillinger Escape Plan (Not an accessible band by any means, but one of my favorites)
Strapping Young Lad
And for kicks, my friend's band Carthage, whose guitarist and producer will eventually join TXR.

I'll always listen to Progressive Metal, I've listened to all those bands before but, if another person comes here looking for more Prog Metal, anything by Devin Townsend is amazing!
And on those metalcore/core suggestions: It's hard for me to hate on a genre of music, I just don't like metalcore, Black Daliah Murder might be a good metalcore band (from what I've heard), But I don't want an absurd amount of break downs in a song for no reason.
EDIT: If anyone needs any suggestions on great Progressive Metal bands I know of a lot of the unknown gems and what a new guy to the genre should start off with, I'd recommend A Perfect Circle and Tool as 2 of the most obvious choices.

So I'm into Amon Amarth, Opeth, Haggard, NekroGoblikon etc. But I need more, what do you guys suggest? I like a *lot* of metal music, and generally the harder it is, the more I like it. But since the mid-1980s, I've been a collector of Christian rock/metal. I know, I know: there is a lot of nauseatingly cheesy Christian music out there (though I would argue that this certainly isn't limited to the Christian music scene). Don't get me wrong: I listen to all the metal . But I thought I would link to some of the exceptionally excellent hard Christian music here, that stands up to any comparison (IMO). First up: Believer. A technical thrash metal band that started in the late 1980s. They experimented with operatic vocals on their second album, and their third album was virtually metallic opera. But they never lost their metal roots, and I can identify a Believer guitar solo even if I've never heard the song before. In 2011, they released a masterpiece of an album called Transhuman. For me, Australian death metal band Mortification's first three albums are some of the best death metal out there. After 1995 or so, Steve Rowe (not related to the Dirty Jobs guy) began to wander all over the extreme metal spectrum, but it always sounded like he was trying too hard compared to the ease with which he executed his early albums. Here's one of my favorite songs by them, "Death Requiem". A Christian band that enjoyed some surprising mainstream success is metalcore outfit Norma Jean. To my ears, these guys almost qualify as math metal, akin to Dillinger Escape Plan. Here is their must-play-at-every-concert favorite, "Memphis will be Laid to Waste".

Better like your black metal (meh).
I'm really amazed that The Ocean isn't here. Their latest album Pelagial is fucking fantastic. Concept album about descending to the bottom of the ocean where a something is there that grants wishes. Lyrics and music are themed accordingly around the people in the sub as they descend. Think Stalker underwater turned into metal.
And the whole thing was written as one piece of music originally, without lyrics as the vocalist was quite sick when they started.
