3) Why do you want a Promotion? I have been squad/platoon leading enough for the past the couple weeks, to not at least get the prestige and company car that go with it.
4) What’s your current In-Game Battle Rank? 72
5) Looking at your certifications page, what Infantry Class/Vehicle do you have the most percentage unlocked with? Heavy/Sunderer
6) Tell me a Joke! Hmmm. Questioning: Why did chicken cross road?
Answering: I have not seen chicken since I was very young, on my parents' farm. This is before the Cossacks slaughtered them. I can still hear screams of sister as soldiers rape her. But back to question, where did you see chicken? I am very, very hungry..
2. Why do you want to lead? What motivates you? I want to enjoy the game, and provide a means for people to also enjoy the game to the fullest. If I can lead a squad or a platoon against an overwhelming opposing force to victory, well that is why people starting carving pictures into walls.
3. Why should we trust you with our Squads/Platoons? "Son, we live in a world that has walls. And those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Santiago and you curse the Marines. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know: that Santiago's death, while tragic, probably saved lives. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives...You don't want the truth. Because deep down, in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that wall. You need me on that wall. We use words like honor, code, loyalty...we use these words as the backbone to a life spent defending something. You use 'em as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom I provide, then questions the manner in which I provide it! I'd rather you just said thank you and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon and stand a post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you're entitled to!"
4. How do you handle stress and heated situations? This is a video game. It is supposed to be fun, and if it is not fun; then what is the point. There is no heated or stressful situation on the internet, in this game, which is not at some point silly. Having said that, empathy and communication are the key to difficult situations.
5. Are you able to diffuse situations before they escalate into bigger problems? A little bit of humor can go a long way.
6. How is your experience with dealing with inter-outfit conflicts? I have a decade of dealing with clans and conflicting personalities. There is not really a situation for sustained conflict, being as this outfit is completely voluntary and takes place on in an imaginary land known as the internet. You either like the general outfit vibe or you don't, and move on. None of us are stuck with each other, and that is a blessing (at the end of the day). Most shit has to do with frustration, and individuals feeling like their voice is not being heard. You either run a semi-egalitarian clan, where different ideas and tactics are tried, weighed for their merit; and either adopted or discarded. Conflict (like the finger pointing after the NOVA incident) is either dealt with directly and early, or you get constant differing factions within the outfit. Ultimately your demeanor while leading becomes the pervasive attitude. If people aren't meshing, constantly negative, or clashing with multiple established members; they go. This isn't the military, or a company. This is a volunteer circle jerk, where if you run across subversive assholes you get rid of them. No drama, no fuss. TRX has rules and expectations, and if you will not listen to the group, or be polite and reasonable: you go. It's fucking beautiful. I had to look up how to spell shit in this paragraph.
7. How would you rate your strategic knowledge of Planet Side 2? The majority of my squad leading is done while the opposing force has a significant advantage during the engagement. I have learned from those who have come before me. I would like to say that a TXR member under my command is worth three of the enemy. I would like to say we win our engagements more often than not. To be concise, I have not rewrtten the rulebook of brilliant strategery. I more of an effort guy. I believe more in basic strategy followed by discipline and tenacity. Easier to get off the ground.
8. How would you describe your leadership ability out of 10 - It starts at an 7, but after a few hours I start to glaze over. I don't like to hold a lot of hands. I give an outline of orders (set up defense at x, move out to y). I prefer to lead people who know how they like to play the game, and provide them the freedom to execute my general orders how they see fit. In specific situations, I will give more detail, in situations of MAX crashes/sundy hunting/gal crashes.
9. What are your biggest contributions you can bring as a leader to TXR? A consistent and positive demeanor. I lead from the front. I am not afraid to face a tough situation and have the entire platoon wipe. I am not looking for an internet ego boost. I am looking to put TXR mettle to the test and have enemy outfits shudder and think "how the fuck did they manage that?".
10. How do you feel TXR can benefit from you being in a leadership position? Having fun and latent homo-eroticism (I spelled that right the first time).
11. Have you ever been a Guild(Clan, Outfit, Corporation, etc. pending on your gaming history) Leader, Officer, or a Event Organizer? Yes I have. I have also managed people in real life too. I had to fucking fire a temporary employee who couldn't get his shit together. Guy, you just can't be constantly fifteen minutes late to work and then fill out your time sheet like you where here at start. Everyone knows.
12. TXR Troopers have been taunting a fellow TXR for being a Brony, This Trooper has had enough and chosen to retaliate by team killing, not only fellow TXR but allied TR, even going as far as selling us out to the enemy. How do you deal with this situation? Why do you choose this path? This behavior is unacceptable. I would inquire to the situation. If the group were being dicks, I would chastise them. If the Brony was being a dick, he would go. However, this is the internet, if one person isn't working out they should probably move on. No hard feelings. For the taunting to come to the point of a rage explosion, somebody in leadership hasn't been doing their job for some time. The general attitude of TXR is awesome, for sustained taunting to have occurred something must have become seriously fucked.
13. Every Field Commander has there preference in battle strategy - Offensive, Defensive, Guerrilla play styles, or Infantry, Armor, Air force favorites. What’s your command style and why? I lead from the front, on the ground. Me and my guys against more of you. Let's see who is better. If we Win? good game. If we Lose? good game (you bastards). We'll analyze what happened and see if you can pull that shit on us twice.
14. Communications have broken down in your Platoon, the order to “Clear Comms” has been ignored and casual conversation is persisting, The battle your Platoon is in is very intense, your force is on the verge of defeat. What action do you take to convince people to get tactical and fight rather then talk? I have not lead Friday Night Ops, or TTA shit. In the current climate, this is what I believe to be the only truly "serious" time. People are generally very respectful. That being said there was a time tonight when I was continually being talked over. I simply calmly repeated my commands several times, ensuring people heard me. We ended up getting run out of several bio labs during an alert to vastly numerically superior forces. Big fucking deal. I'm not here to flex nuts on the internet. If people are occasionally talking over or between commands, it is because they are not truly engaged in the situation. In non "serious" events, it is better for me to take a step back and refocus the platoon's efforts on a different objective than to berate them for talking. This is, after all, supposed to be fun. If this was a serious event, then those people who continued casual conversation would be warned and then temporarily muted if the issue persisted. I believe it is always worse to chastise negative behavior than nurture/reward positive behavior.
16. Do you understand the responsibilities that come with TXR leadership?
I do.
